Over here on the dry side of the Rockies, the Rosa woodsii have already quit blooming. They may begin again when the monsoon rains reach us (I'm being optimistic here using "when" and not "if") and tamp down the heat and moisten our dry and crisp landscape. May your midsummer celebration be full of joy and community and rich connection to the land. And may it nourish you deeply! Big hugs from me.
Beautiful, beautiful. How I wish I could crash your Summer Solstice party! It sounds wild & lovely (you had me at lemon curd). Enjoy and know Emmet & I will be with you in Spirit from the Driftless. xo
How fun it would be to have you here? The day is perfect--a temperate 70 degrees expected. This morning so many birds. Just in time, the columbines raise their head and Lady's Mantel opens. To summer pleasure, to sun, to the beauty of the world. Sending big love.
Our spring here in Tucson began in March with the cactus blooming and palo verde flooding outside with yellow blooms. Summer Solstice will likely be over 100 degrees. Early mornings are best here and lovely.
Karen, I think of this often: how the mountains seasons lag behind others. How lucky I am to experience blossoming on the Front Range and then again on the mountain. Yes to those early mornings.

Thank you. Hyvää Juhannusta Susan! The rain will come. Sending wishes for us all; may we be filled over and over. Big love to you.

How can it be that your writing grows more exquisite by the day? Blessed Summer Solstice to you my friend with so much love
Thank you for your kind words, friend. This post began as one thing and then rose inserted herself--so there is the source and inspiration.
